I've never maintained an online wish list. My first online wish list was registered with Amazon.ca. It's pretty much just a list of photography reference books that I would like to have to hone my skills.

For Christmas I received one of those books, Digital Wedding Photography - I figured that I needed to pop in there and take it off my list. I signed in today and noticed it wasn't on my Amazon list, so I checked my Chapters list, it wasn't there either. Going back to the Amazon list, I poked around a little. (I was advised the book came from Amazon). There's an option on the Amazon wish list to show you purchased items on the list.

I checked to see what was on the list of purchased items, and there was another book there that had been purchased, but it's on back order. No surprise for me (luckily I don't often add/update the wish list).

Anyhow - for anyone that would like to maintain the surprise, you should avoid purchasing through the wish list. Just grab the ISBN number of the books and purchase through your own account (close the browser window and reopen).

Oops. I'm looking forward to getting the second title though!

I bought this killer 10,000,000 candle power spot light at Canadian Tire this week for the specific purpose of painting colored light into the stream of falling snow down at Confederation Landing.

This is my first time ever attempting to paint with light. Given the conditions and the amount of light pollution surrounding my subject, I think the result is very promising. It's something I will need to work at to get it just right. Unfortunately it looks like the mercury will rise above the freezing mark over the next few days, so no snow making!

I was down at the water front twice today to photograph the snow machine that's working full force to make enough snow for the Jack Frost festival Feb 17-19.

If I recall correctly, the snow machine can pump out enough white stuff an hour to cover a square acre with one inch of snow. I will use up to 150 gallons of water per minute when running at full capacity! That is crazy!

Perhaps I'm following a Victoria themed weekend... Amber and I spent an hour in Victoria today... I was made this tonight.

It's today around 2:30-3:00.

I'm planning to go out shooting this Saturday around 2:30-3:00pm. I'll start at the Canons at Victoria Park in Charlottetown, and, if inspiration strikes, changing locations around 4pm.

So, charge up your camera, or get some fresh batteries, some film, or empty your flash card. (or all of the above for some of you!). I usually shoot past dark, or until my card is full... whichever comes first. (3-4 hours on average, minus travelling time).

After two years, I finally (FINALLY!) updated the copyright notice footing all of my gallery pages - and removed Dan James for President of the Internet button from the header files.

Other than that - things remain pretty much the same.
